ADP Donates $500k to Feeding America to Help Provide Millions of Pounds of Food to Hungry Americans
Date:12/21/2009

CHICAGO, Dec. 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization, announced today that ADP(R), a leading provider of business outsourcing solutions, has donated $500,000 to help fight hunger in America.

This is the second year in a row ADP has donated $500,000 to Feeding America. The funds will be used to provide food to food banks across the country. These food banks help feed more than four million Americans each week.

"Last year, millions of( )Americans struggled to get enough to eat," said Gary Butler, Chief Executive Officer of ADP. "This holiday season, to help address the issue of hunger in America, ADP expands on its own long-standing tradition by our associates to participate in food drives across the country with a donation to Feeding America. Our donation supports Feeding America's worthy mission and far-reaching impact in providing direct relief to millions of people in need."

Feeding America's network members supply food to more than 25 million Americans each year, including 9 million children and 3 million seniors. Today, one in six Americans do not always know where they will find their next meal. ADP's $500,000 donation will help Feeding America provide approximately 4.5 million pounds of food and grocery products to low-income Americans.

"Our food banks continue to deal with record numbers of people who are desperately seeking help to feed their families," said Vicki Escarra, president and chief executive officer of Feeding America. "We would be overwhelmed without the very generous support of partners like ADP."

Across the board, food banks are witnessing an average increased need of nearly 20 percent. Some food banks are even reporting that they are now providing emergency food to people who were once donors. There are more than 49 million Americans at risk of hunger and the number is growing every day. '/>"/>
