Actuaries Provide Capitol Hill Briefing to Explore Health Care Reform Components

WASHINGTON, June 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released today by the American Academy of Actuaries:

What: The American Academy of Actuaries will host a Capitol Hill briefing on actuarial considerations related to health care reform provisions.

The actuaries will discuss the health care reform issues that are most important when evaluating a proposal's prospects for leading to viable and sustainable health insurance reform. Among other issues the actuaries will address: adverse selection considerations, a public plan option, the importance of risk pooling, and actuarial equivalence.
