Ziosoft Releases Free zioTerm Basic 2D/3D Software Application
Date:11/24/2009

zioTerm Software will be Offered Initially to the Academic and Research Communities

(PRWEB) -- Ziosoft®, Inc. a leader in advanced visualization and analysis software for medical imaging, is offering its new zioTerm™ basic 2D/3D software free to the academic and research communities. The Windows®-based software can be used for reviewing DICOM 3.0-compatible imaging data from CT, MR, PET, ultrasound and X-ray on a local computer connected to the internet. This software will provide students and researchers, who often do not have access to quality state of the art imaging tools, the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience using Ziosoft’s core 2D/3D software.

Ziosoft has been a market leader in 3D advanced visualization software in Japan for over ten years with the Ziostation® system and has recently entered new markets, including the U.S. market. “We believe offering the zioTerm software at no cost is a good way to gain exposure and create brand awareness for Ziosoft and to increase interest in our full featured Ziostation thin-client system,” said Terry Chang, Ziosoft director of marketing. “We are pleased to be able to offer this tool to students and researchers who need to learn advanced imaging techniques but are often unable to afford the cost of the 2D/3D software. “

Although the applications for the Ziostation System have received United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for diagnostic use, the zioTerm software is currently intended for educational purposes. zioTerm will eventually be released globally for diagnostic use, in compliance with regulatory bodies worldwide. In the meantime, offering the product to the academic community will help Ziosoft to gain valuable user experience and feedback on the zioTerm software. The zioTerm software can be downloaded from the Ziosoft website:
