Technology

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- ZONARE Medical Systems, a developer of premium ultrasound systems and proprietary Zone Sonography(TM) technology, announced the company has appointed Timothy A. Marcotte as vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). Marcotte has more than 20 years of finance and operating experience primarily in the healthcare industry.

"Tim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the ZONARE team," said Donald Southard, president and CEO for ZONARE. "As the sales and shipments of our unique, patented Convertible Ultrasound(TM) platform continue to increase, his background in helping to grow companies into successful multi-million dollar entities will be a tremendous asset."

Most recently, Marcotte served as CFO and vice president of finance and administration at VNUS Medical Technologies. Prior to VNUS, he served as chief operating officer (COO) and CFO of Repeater Technologies, a wireless communications equipment manufacturer, and was CFO at other private and publicly held technology companies over the last 15 years. Marcotte has also been a member of the board of directors of four technology companies. He holds both a B.S. in Anthropology/Zoology and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Zone Sonography technology has enabled ZONARE Medical Systems to bring its unique, patented Convertible Ultrasound platform to the industry providing premium image quality and performance together with greater portability at an attractive price to value ratio compared to other ultrasound systems. Clinicians are able to convert the z.one system from a full-featured, cart-based system into a premium compact ultrasound system at the touch of a button, optimizing its versatility in a variety of clinical settings, without sacrificing image quality or performance.
