SEATTLE, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- ZINO Society is pleased to present ZINO Life: Life Sciences Investment Forum in partnership with the Washington Biotechnology and Biomedical Association (WBBA), on February 24, 2009.
ZINO Life will include exhibition space, networking, company presentations, keynote speaker Bruce Montgomery (Gilead Sciences), and an expert panel including H. Stewart Parker (formerly Targeted Genetics), Wayne Embree (Reference Capital Management LLC), Alan Smith (Fenwick & West LLP) and others. The day culminates with a wine reception and People's Choice Awards for presenters. In addition, one of the 12 companies will be invited to present at WBBA's Invest Northwest conference, March 17th - 18th 2009.
Reference Capital will select the best investment opportunity as determined by Reference Capital Management LLC and a $50,000 fund will be awarded in early 2009. "We see excellent opportunities within the Life Sciences in the region and we want to capitalize on them," said Founder and Managing Director of Reference Capital, Wayne Embree.
Selection Process:
Twelve early stage or expansion companies in the areas of life sciences, biotechnology, medical devices, diagnostics, and health-care information technology looking for start up or expansion capital. Companies will be selected to present their business plans to angel investors and business leaders.
Companies who would like to be considered to present at ZINO Life need to submit an online application, upload an executive summary that is no more than 5 pages long, and pay a $150 application fee.
The ZINO Society screening board will select a group of semi-finalists to
move forward to a second level screening round. Those companies will be asked
to present to the ZINO Society screening/coaching board on January 22 or 23,
2009. From these finalists, 12 companies will be selected to present their
