Date:9/22/2009

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Beech Sandal Company declares its commitment to raising awareness and funding for education, research and treatment for women's health issues by donating its popular, health-oriented Yoga Sandals(R) footwear and a portion of the company's sales to support a number of worthy causes.

Yoga Sandals(R), "A Better Flip Flop", according to Prevention Magazine, recently appeared with an all-star cast of products and services supporting breast cancer research at the 2009 "Think Pink" Emmy Awards Style Lounge where guests were treated to live music, a variety of spa services and luxurious gifts including a pair of Pink Evolution Yoga Sandals(R), courtesy of Beech. Proceeds from this exclusive event for Emmy nominees, presenters, stylists and media will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Tiger Lily Foundation.

Yoga Sandals(R) also made an appearance at National Yoga Month's Global Mala Celebration in Los Angeles, benefiting Autism Speaks and the Yoga Health Foundation, a non profit organization that offers health education programs to schools, introducing the holistic benefits of yoga to youth. The free event will honor donations with complimentary gift bags including fitness DVDs, natural foods and a pair of Yoga Sandals(R) footwear by Beech.

In support of National Yoga Month in September and Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Beech Sandal Company, certified by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council, is offering free gifts with purchase and is donating a portion of sales to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure(R) breast cancer foundation.

Created by Gayle Trenberth, Ph.D., Yoga Sandals(R) featured at www.yogasandals.com, are flip-flops and slippers with four toe separators that allow natural alignment of foot bones and encourage proper forward foot motion with a supportive, contoured sole.

Tested and approved by the National Health and Wellness Club, Yoga Sandals(R) restore strength and mobility to feet, retraining alignment and offering relief to common problems such as bunions or hammertoes. Weight is distributed more evenly, supporting the yogic principle that balance and body alignment start with grounding the feet by spreading the toes.

With added stress and anxiety from these tough economic times, people are focusing more on their health, seeking preventive measures and natural ways to manage wellness. Yoga Sandals(R) by Beech are a natural, economical way to relieve stress that starts in the feet, causing pain in other areas of the body.
