Yalobusha General Hospital Selects HMS to Provide Information Technology Infrastructure

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Healthcare Management Systems, Inc.(R) (HMS) announced today that it was selected by Yalobusha General Hospital to supply a full suite of financial solutions for the hospital and its two rural health clinics. The new HMS system will provide much needed integration for the 26-bed hospital and 126-bed nursing home in Water Valley, Miss., and will also include technology to get them closer to an electronic health record (EHR) for their patients.

"We are a growing facility looking to go to the next phase with technology," said Terry Varner, administrator for Yalobusha General Hospital. "HMS just seemed to be the best solution for us overall: a friendly organization that also offered the reporting tools and dashboards we need to progress."

Yalobusha General Hospital has been on a path of improvement and expansion, including building a new clinic, and found that they were simply outgrowing their existing system. Their integrated HMS hospital information system with its robust financial reporting capabilities will help them build on a solid platform to serve their community now and into the future.

"We look forward to the new partnership with HMS," Varner concluded. "We are very excited about the implementation of the new system and the improvements it will bring."

"HMS is pleased to have been selected by Yalobusha General Hospital to satisfy their hospital information system needs," said Mike Freeman, senior vice president of sales and marketing for HMS. "As this facility continues to grow, the cost-effective and comprehensive HMS system will help them build for the future and move toward an electronic health record."

The new HMS system will go live at Yalobusha General Hospital in February 2009.
