Wyeth Reports Earnings Results for the 2007 Third Quarter and First Nine Months

the Company's Board of Directors approved an increase to the Company's previously authorized share repurchase program, which inclusive of approximately $1.2 billion in repurchases already executed in 2007, authorizes the Company to buy back up to $5.0 billion of the Company's common stock. The repurchase program has no time limit and may be suspended for periods or discontinued at any time. The Company intends to fund the share repurchase program with cash from operations.

Increase in Common Stock Dividend

As previously announced, on September 27, 2007, the Company declared a dividend of twenty-eight cents ($0.28) per share on the outstanding shares of its common stock, payable on December 3, 2007 to stockholders of record at the close of business on November 13, 2007. This quarterly rate represents a 7.7% increase per share from the previous quarter ($0.26).

Worldwide Pharmaceuticals net revenue increased 10% for the 2007 third quarter and first nine months due primarily to higher sales of Effexor, Prevnar, Enbrel, Nutrition products and Zosyn(R). Protonix(R) sales decreased 6% for the 2007 third quarter, reflecting
