Wrigley Honored With '2009 Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles' Award

  • Wrigley also offers generous medical benefits to cover annual preventative care, which is paid in full by the company and available to all associates and retirees. It provides leading dental, medical and pharmacy benefits and gives its associates access to physicians on-site and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, including assistance for emotional and personal conflicts and complimentary counseling sessions.

    In addition, Wrigley offers many other progressive wellness programs that were critical to receiving the award. To keep healthy while on the job, Wrigley provides associates access to onsite fitness equipment, where available, healthy dining options and discounts at local fitness clubs. Pre-shift stretching and warm-up exercises are also commonplace at the manufacturing sites. Wrigley also provides multiple options for smoking cessation, including behavior change programs, workplace groups and personal coaching through HealthString's Nurse Coaches.

    In its headquartered city of Chicago, Wrigley encourages city-wide physical activity through a number of sponsored events. It is the title sponsor of the "Wrigley Start Early Run and Pledge Walk," which encourages families to get out and enjoy physical activity along the shoreline of Lake Michigan while raising money for Voices for Illinois Children and Prevent Child Abuse America.
