Wright Conserve hip replacement lawsuits (http://www.consumerinjurylawyers.com/wright-conserve-hip-replacement.html) continue to move forward in a multidistrict litigation underway in U.S. District Court, Northern District of Georgia, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. According to court documents, Wright Medical Technology notified the Court on July 23rd that it was seeking discovery from certain non-parties to the litigation, including a non-party physician. “Our firm continues to receive inquiries from individuals who were allegedly harmed by a Wright Conserve hip replacement, including those who have needed revision surgery to replace the device, ” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing the victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm is actively filing Wright hip lawsuits, and continues to offer free legal evaluations to individuals who suffered serious complications, allegedly due to Wright Conserve and Wright Profemur hip replacements.
Wright Conserve Hip Replacement Lawsuits
Court records indicate that more than 40 Wright Conserve hip replacement lawsuits are currently pending in the Northern District of Georgia, all of which allege that the devices’ metal-on-metal design resulted in the accumulation of excessive metal ions in recipients, many of whom were forced to undergo revision surgery. Wright Medical Group disclosed on April 30th that additional Wright hip lawsuits involving the Conserve line of artificial hips had been filed in state court in California, a number of which have been consolidated pursuant to procedures of California State Judicial Counsel Coordinated Proceedings.* All of these lawsuits allege injury due to a number of devices that are part of the Wright Conserve hip line, including the Wright Conserve Total Hip Implant System, Conserve Total A-Class Advanced Metal Hip Implant System, and the Conserve Resurfacing System.
Wright Medical Group also disclosed in April that it is facing a number of Wright hip lawsuits involving the Profemur Total Hip Replacement System. The company also cautioned that last year’s Stryker hip recall for Rejuvenate and ABG II hip stems had led to increased scrutiny of cobalt chrome modular neck products, something which could negatively impact Profemur sales.* On March 20, 2013, a Joint Notice of Settlement was filed with the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, that indicated the company had settled at least one claim pertaining to the Profemur hips. Hip recipients who experienced complications allegedly related to Wright Conserve hip replacements or Wright Profemur hips may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering and other damages.
