Wound Management Technologies, Inc. Announces the Presentation of Evidence Based Clinical Studies at the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care Conference in Dallas
Date:4/23/2009

FORT WORTH, Texas, April 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wound Care Innovations, LLC, a subsidiary of Wound Management Technologies, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: WNDM), announced today that it will exhibit at the 22nd Annual Symposium on Advanced Wound Care and Wound Healing Society (SAWC/WHS) conference in Dallas April 26-29. This conference is regarded industry wide as the premier educational wound-care focused program and has grown to become the largest annual gathering of wound care clinicians in the United States. Pre-registrations numbers indicate that more than 2200 physicians, nurses, therapists, scientists, and other allied healthcare professionals are expected to attend. Oral and poster abstract presentations, pre-and post-conference sessions, and other events offer important information as well as vast networking opportunities. There are 2 abstracts being presented on Wound Care Innovations' advanced wound care collagen product, CellerateRx(R). One abstract is entitled "Emerging Use of Topical Biologics in Limb Salvage: The Role of Activated Collagen in the Multimodality Treatment" and illustrates the biocompatibility of CellerateRx and its effectiveness in multimodality treatments. A second abstract, "Activated Collagen: An Evidence Based Skin Tear Study: Interim Evaluation" shows that the use of CellerateRx increased the efficiency of healing and a majority of the tears or flaps were resolved within one week, with just one application compared to approximately two week with the untreated controls.

"We are particularly excited about this year's SAWC conference," said Cathy Bradshaw, President of Wound Care Innovations. "We recognize the importance of the management of diabetic wounds and the role in limb salvage. Amputation rates are on the rise with devastating consequences to the patient and a drain on the healthcare system. And skin tears represent a major problem in the elderly and compromised patients. Untreated skin tears can serve as a portal of entry for infection and be a source of pain for the patient. Their treatment can have an impact on facilities' resources. We are delighted to have these evidence based abstracts and studies presented which show not only the efficacy of CellerateRx(R) but also its wide range of use in wound care."
