Women In Government Launches the Childhood Obesity Policy Resource Center

in schools, access to healthy, affordable foods, and street-scale and community improvements; state legislation that has been introduced or enacted; regulations that have been finalized in order to decrease the prevalence of childhood obesity; legislation, laws, and regulations support ideas of physical activity in school, access to healthy, affordable foods, and street-scale and community improvements; and legislative champions who have done outstanding work to prevent and reduce childhood obesity in their communities.

Women In Government Foundation, Inc. is a national, non-profit, non-partisan organization serving approximately all 1,780 women state legislators, and providing leadership opportunities, networking, expert forums, and educational resources. Leadership for Healthy Communities is a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation designed to support local and state government leaders nationwide in their efforts to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic through public policies that promote active living, healthy eating and access to healthy foods.
