Wolters Kluwer Health posthumously honors Nursing Management Editor-in-Chief Richard Hader
Date:9/9/2013

Philadelphia, PA (September 9, 2013) Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals, researchers and students, is pleased to welcome hundreds of nurse leaders to the annual Nursing Management Congress2013, taking place from September 9-13 at the Hilton Chicago. The Congress is endorsed by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Sigma Theta Tau International, and other premier nursing societies. The event is sponsored by Wolters Kluwer Health Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, publisher of Nursing Management journal.

One of this year's Congress highlights will be the inaugural recipient of the Richard Hader Visionary Leader Award, which honors a nurse leader who approaches nursing 'as both an art and a science by promoting caring and competence as the link between science and humanity.'

The Award is named for Nursing Management journal's longstanding and highly respected former Editor-in-Chief Richard Hader, PhD, NE-BC, RN, CHE, CPHQ, FAAN, who is being honored posthumously at the conference. During the Congress keynote session attendees will receive a free copy of a new book, Lessons from a Visionary Leader, a collection of best excerpts from nearly a decade editorials authored by Hader.

"Richard was a gifted leader dedicated to nursing practice and elevating healthcare leadership through his role as Nursing Management Editor-in-Chief," said Jayne Marks, Vice President, Publishing, Wolters Kluwer Health, Medical Research. "If you were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Rich during his 30-year career, it's likely that you benefitted from his leadership lessons to draw upon in your work."

Additional conference activities include nearly 95 poster sessions and an Ovid-sponsored dinner symposium, "Doing it All with Evidence: Meeting Standards and Maximizing Patient Outcomes," presented by Lisa Hopp, PhD, RN, FAAN, and Professor, Purdue University Calumet, College of Nursing.

Attendees can earn continuing education credit by participating in the symposium and going to http://www.econferencecenter.com, which features virtual CE courses. Visitors to the Wolters Kluwer Health - Lippincott Williams Wilkins booth have the opportunity to learn more and test drive the Nursing Management iPad app and explore various nursing books, journals, and other resources.
