Wine of The Month Club Discusses the South African Wine Industry
Date:9/20/2013

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 20, 2013

Wine is a worldwide interest, branching across multiple continents and dozens of countries. In order to inform and enlighten consumers, Cellars Wine Club has written and shared an article on the state of South Africa’s wine industry. Additionally, the blog post explains economic tendencies in correlation to the workforce and, specifically, winemakers.

The article’s author, Byron Young, begins with simple interest in wine, but dives into several paragraphs of fascinating and even sobering economic statistics: “[There is] much of a difference between South Africa and the states. As it stands, for instance, vineyard workers are given about 12 Rand per hour. This doesn’t sound so bad until you look at the exchange rate: 10 rand per dollar! Now I understand that in other countries it can be much worse, but I had thought that South Africa was pretty much a developed country.”

Throughout the article, Cellars Wine Club is dedicated to explaining the political and economic climate in which the South African wine industry is required to live. The author does shed some positive light on the situation, stating that the SA grape harvest is improving, as well as the weather experienced in recent seasons. Consumers are becoming informed and enlightened through Cellars Wine Club and this article.
