Window World, the nation's largest window replacement company, has exclusively committed its fundraising efforts to St. Jude to support the hospital's treatment of catastrophic pediatric diseases and because no child is ever denied treatment due to the family's inability to pay.
"Even though our country has been experiencing difficult economic times, we remain focused on helping St. Jude, a first-class hospital known for its state-of-the-art pediatric cancer research and treatment," said Tammy Whitworth, chairperson of Window World Cares.
"We also want to benefit a charity that has the reputation for fiscal responsibility, which St. Jude has consistently proven for many years," said Whitworth.
The donations collected from individual Window World franchise owners and employees were matched dollar-for-dollar by the Window World Cares foundation. The company's commitment, however, extends beyond this first endowment. Window World has pledged continued support for St. Jude in 2009, and the program will be expanded to allow for the collection of donations from its customers.
"We have seen fresh innovation and creativity, as our stores around the country came up with ways to share the St. Jude story," said Whitworth. "Some miracles require tremendous resources. We anticipate this partnership to continue for many years so Window World can participate in the miraculous care given at St. Jude."
