When it Comes to Natural Remedies for Hormonal Balance, the Proof is in the Clinical Research
Date:8/14/2009

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- While natural products that promise relief from menopausal symptoms abound, few have success rates higher than 50 percent and none have been clinically proven to regulate hormone levels, until now. Natural Health International (NHI), a vertically integrated San Francisco based health and dietary supplement company, announced today, its Femmenessence line has been clinically proven to alleviate symptoms of menopause in 84 percent of women.

The subject of four published studies, the line comprises MacaLife(R) for peri-menopausal women experiencing hormonal fluctuations, and MacaPause(R) for post-menopausal women experiencing loss of hormone production. Femmenessence features NHI's proprietary ingredient Maca-GO(R) - a concentrated, organically certified, proprietary formulation of different phenotypes of Lepidium peruvianum - the Peruvian herb Maca.

Published human clinical trials have demonstrated that compared to placebo, Femmenessence balances levels of various hormones - such as estradiol, progesterone, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), thyroid and luteinizing hormone (LH) - in peri- and post-menopausal women.

Femmenessence does not introduce any foreign hormones into the system. It simply supports the body's ability to balance (either increase or decrease) levels of its own hormones. Passing stringent pharmacology, toxicology and double blind placebo controlled clinical trials for health and safety, Femmenessence is as safe and side effect-free as one's own hormones.

NHI recommends a twice-daily dosage of two 500-mg Femmenessence capsules for the first four months with a one-week break every two to three months. Because each woman is different, NHI recommends women consult a health professional or speak with an NHI recommended Naturopathic doctor first.

About Natural Health International

Since its founding in 1997 as a raw material supply business in Sydney, Australia, NHI has expanded internationally and merged with a leading research and development company. Today, it's one of the world's few vertically integrated dietary supplement companies, growing its own herbs and maintaining complete control of its product manufacturing and distribution. In 2007, it launched its own line of retail products found in health food stores such as Whole Foods, PCC, NRG and Pharmaca, as well as online at naturalhi.com focused on balancing women's and men's hormones naturally with the most pure, organic and chemical-free herbs available.

Through years of research, world-renowned biochemist and NHI's Director of Research and Development, Dr. Henry Meissner created a range of finished herbal products with unprecedented levels of the full spectrum of active constituents in each herb - superseding the highest concentrated extracts on the market.
