Whatman, Now Part of GE Healthcare, to Distribute GenVault DNA Recovery Kits in North America
Date:5/29/2008

CARLSBAD, Calif., May 29 /PRNewswire/ -- GenVault Corporation, the leader in dry-state, room temperature biosample management solutions announced on May 29, 2008 that Whatman, Now part of GE Healthcare, will become a non-exclusive distributor of GenVault's GenSolve DNA recovery kits in North America.

The GenSolve DNA recovery kit enables FTA(R)1 card users to recovery high quality DNA from their archived samples with a simple, user-friendly and reliable procedure. The DNA that is recovered is double-stranded and compatible with a multitude of downstream genetic assays such as genotyping and PCR. GenSolve expands the utility of existing FTA(R) cards by uniquely delivering DNA in quantities and of a quality suitable for even the most challenging genetic analysis technologies.

"This distribution agreement allows Whatman to offer a unique method of extracting DNA from FTA Cards adding value to the FTA product line," states Richard Dool, Senior Vice President, North America. "And it enables our existing FTA customers to extend the number of tests they can run with their archived samples."

"GenVault is pleased to further our long-term relationship with Whatman. GenSolve is an enabling product that will allow users everywhere to extend the utility of samples stored in the dry-state," said David Wellis, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of GenVault.
