What is CoQ10 Anyway? And What Does it Do For You?

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., May 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Hero Nutritionals introduced Slice of Life, a complete line of gummy vitamins for adults, at the Natural Products Expo West in March 2008. Included in the line is the very popular CoQ10 or Coenzyme Q10. Though CoQ10 is found in every cell in the body, its alternate name is ubiquinone, which comes from the word ubiquitous for 'found everywhere', low levels of the vital nutrient can be dangerous. For example, people with heart failure have been found to have lower levels of CoQ10 in heart muscle cells. Preliminary research has also found that CoQ10 may increase levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine, which is lower in people with Parkinson's disease.

Additionally, CoQ10 supplementation significantly improves blood pressure and as a cancer-fighting antioxidant, might protect brain cells from damage by free radicals. Finally, 95% of all the human body's energy requirements are converted with the aid of CoQ10.

New Slice of Life provides a unique gummy delivery system which makes it easy for everyone to enjoy the health benefits of this powerful vitamin. "The fruit flavored, chewable slices actually taste v-e-r-y good -- making it a treat to take one's vitamins, or in this case CoQ10, every day," concluded Jennifer Hodges, Founder and CEO of Hero Nutritionals.

Hero Nutritionals family of nutritional supplements offers a vitamin for every age in the consumer's household; children, tweens, adults and even diabetics. Founded in 1997, Hero has been innovating nutrition since they introduced the revolutionary Yummi Bears brand, which continues to be America's #1 children's vitamin. Slice of Life is the next generation of breakthrough nutritional supplements created and produced by Hero Nutritionals under the guidance of the founder and active president Jennifer Hodges.

Available at The Vitamin Shoppe, Whole Foods Markets, and fine health stores everywhere.
