West Virginia EHR Collaborative Adds New Member

Qualifacts Systems Inc., announces that Eastridge Health Systems has joined Prestera Center for Mental Health Services as the newest member of the West Virginia EHR Collaborative.

Nashville, Tenn. (Vocus) March 22, 2010 -- Qualifacts Systems Inc., announces that Eastridge Health Systems has joined Prestera Center for Mental Health Services as the newest member of the West Virginia EHR Collaborative.

The West Virginia EHR Collaborative (WVEC) is a West Virginia based not-for-profit organization formed to aid West Virginia’s Behavioral Health and Human Service providers in the acquisition and implementation of enterprise Electronic Health Record systems.

“The adoption of an Electronic Health Record by West Virginia’s providers is a must. An enterprise system is critical to meeting the ever-increasing regulatory and payer requirements and reporting on clinical outcomes,” said Bob Hansen, chief executive officer of Prestera Center. “We felt that forming the EHR Collaborative would provide an opportunity for the behavioral health centers in West Virginia to adopt a more sophisticated system at a lower acquisition cost and with less risk than a center would face by acquiring systems individually.”

“Joining the WV EHR Collaborative made sense to the EHR selection team at Eastridge,” said Paul Macom, executive director of Eastridge Health Systems. “By acquiring a system as part of a multi-provider consortium, Eastridge benefits from the experience of our partners, our implementation time will be faster and it’s a lot less expensive.”

“Multi-provider EHR implementations is a growing trend nationally,” according to Diane Bell, a principle with Behavioral Management Solutions. “By working together agencies benefit from better decision making on workflow and capture more efficiencies -- which drives strong return on investment for the members.”

“The West Virginia EHR Collaborative is the eighth multi-provider group nationally to select Qualifacts’ CareLogic™ EHR system,” said David Klements, CEO for Qualifacts, “By using the consortium model, progressive groups like WVEC are implementing better systems, for less money and with less risk.”
