Wendy E. Roberts, MD, Named 2009-2010 President of the Women's Dermatologic Society

in 2004 in her community of Rancho Mirage, CA. This community outreach service has since grown considerably to become an acclaimed national program reaching millions to educate about sun safety, currently presented to the public through the collaborative support of L'Oreal USA.

A graduate of Stanford Medical School, Dr. Roberts is board-certified in dermatology and dermatopathology, specializing in Geriatric Dermatology, Ethnic Skin of Color and Cosmetic Dermatology. Dr. Roberts is the Founding Director of Dermatopathology of Loma Linda Division of Dermatology. In addition to holding many leadership positions within WDS, Dr. Roberts has served on numerous committees of the AAD and is Past President of the California Dermatologic Society (CalDerm(R)).

ABOUT THE WOMEN'S DERMATOLOGIC SOCIETY (WDS)

The Women's Dermatologic Society supports the careers and professional development of women dermatologists. The mission of the Women's Dermatologic Society is to help women in dermatology achieve their greatest personal and professional potential by striving to foster, promote, and support women's issues in dermatology; identify, train, and recognize women leaders in dermatology; provide a forum for developing relationships and the exchange of ideas and research relevant to women's issues; and promote the highest possible standards of ethics, research, patient care and education, as well as public education. Now the third-largest dermatology organization in the United States, WDS is comprised of nearly 1,700 members nationally and internationally, representing all sub-specialties in dermatology, working in private practice, academics and research. Eight percent of the membership is male.
