Wellspring Camps Kicks Off National Nutrition Month With $500 Discount On Summer Enrollment
Date:3/1/2010

REEDLEY, Calif., March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Wellspring, the leading weight loss program for adolescents and young adults, is offering a $500 discount on all applications received by April 1st, 2010, in honor of National Nutrition Month which kicks off today. There are currently 11 Wellspring weight loss camp locations across the US, Canada and UK including their new location, Wellspring Camp La Jolla near the beach in San Diego, California.

Starting in June with sessions from one week to twelve weeks, Wellspring is the only organization in the United States that offers a scientific and comprehensive health program for children and teens with locations across the country. Unlike "fat camps", traditional weight loss camps, or weight loss spas, Wellspring's scientific approach to diet and activity management helps campers change behaviors in order to adopt a new, healthy lifestyle.  Campers lose an average of 4 lbs. per week.  Best of all, 70 percent of Wellspring campers maintain or continue losing weight at home.

"We want to continue to encourage adolescents and families to lose weight and get in shape.  Without change, families are sure to suffer the physical, social, and emotional effects of weight," said Ryan Craig, President of Wellspring. "With this $500 discount, we hope it is the boost that families need to make a life-changing decision."

Wellspring's nutritional focus is on a low-fat diet, showing campers how to reduce fat and calories without feeling hungry or deprived. Wellspring's nutritional approach includes three meals, two snacks, and an unlimited amount of "uncontrolled" foods, such as soups, fresh fruit and salad to ensure campers are full.  Campers and their parents are also provided nutrition and culinary education and cooking tips to ensure success at camp continues at home.
