Vice President of Medical Policy Will Discuss New Paradigm for Health Plan

INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- WellPoint, Inc., the nation's largest health benefits company, today announced Dr. Alan Rosenberg's participation at AdvaMed 2008, one of the medical technology industry's premier conferences. Dr. Rosenberg, vice president of Medical Policy, Technology Assessment and Credentialing Programs for WellPoint, will participate on a panel discussion that will focus on increasing collaborative efforts between health plans and manufacturers to help improve health outcomes and lower medical costs through medical technology innovation.
The panel, "A New Paradigm: Development of Partnerships with Private Health Plans," will feature employer, provider, manufacturer and health plan representatives from organizations including WellPoint, Emblem Health, Becton, Dickinson and Company, Presscott Associates, and Stryker Orthopaedics. Dr. Rosenberg will offer insight into how health plans evaluate collaborative opportunities.
In its second year, AdvaMed is expected to draw more than 1,400 senior level business executives, policy-makers, media, financiers and service providers from 500 companies, 35 states and 25 countries around the world. Conference programming offers a variety of workshops and panel discussions on subjects such as compliance learning and training, intellectual property, global market opportunities, corporate finance, public policy, emerging company issues, product innovation and the value of medical technology.
Dr. Rosenberg received his undergraduate training from Columbia University in New York and received his medical degree from New York University Medical School. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago's Michael Reese Hospital.
