WellPoint NextRx Receives National Leadership Award for Innovative Web Tool

Online health information program recognized for helping to reduce inappropriate medication use and improve patient compliance and self-care.

INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- WellPoint NextRx, a premier provider of pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services, has received a 2007 Disease Management Leadership Award from the Disease Management Association of America (DMAA) for its innovative, Web-based Health Envelope(R) Program. WellPoint NextRx is owned by WellPoint, Inc. (NYSE: WLP), the nation's largest health benefits provider.

The DMAA: The Care Continuum Alliance presented WellPoint NextRx with the leadership award for Outstanding Technology and Innovative Tool. WellPoint's Health Envelope(R) Program is a dynamic, Web-based health information and management solution designed to improve medication compliance and patient self-care while reducing inappropriate medication use.
