INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- WellPoint, Inc. (NYSE: WLP) today announced the appointment of Krista A. Bowers as president of its Senior Business and Consumer Business marketing, effective immediately.
In her new role, Bowers will be responsible for leading WellPoint's Medicare business division and Consumer Business marketing.

Prior to returning to WellPoint earlier this year as senior vice president of marketing for the company's Consumer Businesses, Bowers was Medicare officer, Western region, for Health Net. In this role, Bowers was responsible for the company's Medicare line of business as well as national Medicare marketing. Previously, Krista was VP of Marketing for Health Net.
From 1997 to 2003 Bowers served as staff vice president, Communications, for WellPoint, where she was responsible for all sales and marketing communications planning, development and production for WellPoint's California subsidiary. During this period Bowers won numerous company honors for developing programs and initiatives that helped increase market share, and enhanced the brand by connecting with consumers.
Prior to lending her marketing expertise to the health care industry, Bowers was an account director for McCann-Erickson in Singapore, where she led the Coca-Cola account team for Singapore and Malaysia, and also delivered integrated marketing campaigns for Cathay Pacific Airways in Los Angeles.
