Date:2/5/2009

INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- WellPoint, Inc. commends President Barack Obama for signing the reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). This signature will provide states with additional resources to ensure that all eligible children, regardless of their parents' income, receive proper health care coverage.

WellPoint applauds the President for making SCHIP a top priority and we look forward to working with him to achieve his goal to provide health insurance coverage for every child.
