WellPoint Applauds President Obama for Signing SCHIP Reauthorization
Date:2/5/2009

INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- WellPoint, Inc. commends President Barack Obama for signing the reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). This signature will provide states with additional resources to ensure that all eligible children, regardless of their parents' income, receive proper health care coverage.

SCHIP is a great example of successful partnerships between the public and private sectors. The reauthorization of this essential program will sustain coverage for all children and parents currently enrolled in the program as well as support coverage for all children who are eligible but not enrolled. WellPoint applauds the President for making SCHIP a top priority and we look forward to working with him to achieve his goal to provide health insurance coverage for every child.
