We Need Your Support - 'Ridin' to a Cure' Sept. 25 and 26

Last year's grant recipient of $150,000 was Dr. Carol Williams, Ph.D., an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, directs a research laboratory that conducts studies on breast cancer. With previous support from the RRCRF, Dr. Williams made significant progress in identifying how a protein called SmgGDS may function in breast cancer cells to promote metastasis and are researching the development of drugs that will prevent cells from making this protein and thus halting metastasis.

Ken Matthews, chairman of the 2009 'Ridin' to a Cure' event comments, "We are extremely grateful for the generous support from companies like Wisconsin Harley-Davidson, Northwestern Mutual Life, Olympia Resort and Conference Center, Ewald Automotive, Geo-Synthetics, Inc. and Harris Marketing Group."
