Watching TV on Mobile Devises in Bedroom Threatens Sleep
Date:3/28/2013

University Heights, OH (PRWEB) March 28, 2013

The reason mobile devices disrupt sleep more than viewing regular TV is that they are used in proximity to the face filling a larger portion of the visual field. By simply being used closer to the face, they project more light into the user's eyes. These devices utilize LEDs to provide viewable light. Specifically, blue LEDs used in these devices emit a wavelength close to the peak sensitivity of special sensors within the retina of the eye that are responsible for suppressing the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone.

The iPhone and iPad filters are made of flexible vinyl which is easily installed and removed. They adhere well to the device's screen and do not interfere with the touch screen function. The filters block the light most effective in suppressing melatonin and allows for normal use of technology without compromising sleep. The filters and other products that eliminate blue light are available at http://www.lowbluelights.com.

The science behind these filters and other products including eye glasses that eliminate the blue rays and light bulbs that don’t produce blue light is discussed in two books written by Dr. Richard Hansler: “Great Sleep! Reduced Cancer!” and “Heroes of Cancer Prevention Research”. Both books are available on the website or from Amazon as paperback books or on Kindle
