Sogeti Des Moines Unit to Sponsor Event to Raise Funds for the American Parkinson's Disease Association's Iowa Chapter

Dayton, OH (Vocus) August 4, 2009 -- Sogeti, a premier provider of information technology services, today announced its plans to once again partner with the Iowa Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association (APDA) to sponsor a walk to raise funds for the APDA. Proceeds from the event, American Parkinson's Disease Association Walking to Ease the Burden, will be used to support research, people living with Parkinson's disease, their caregivers and Parkinson's education.

"Parkinson's disease affects more people than Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy and Lou Gehrig's disease combined and the incidence of Parkinson's disease is increasing rapidly as America ages," shares Jeff Molander, President of the Iowa Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association. "Currently, there is no cure, but there is help for victims of the disease and their caregivers."

Founded in 1961, the APDA works to ease the burden and find a cure through medical research, education and support for the patient and their family. "The funds raised in community events, like the Sogeti walk, allow the state chapter to provide Iowan's with needed support."

As a global company, Sogeti believes that it is important to continually give back to and protect our world. Sponsoring this walk is just one example of how Sogeti contributes to the well being of its local communities.
