WEDI Provides Essential EFT and ERA Enrollment Guidance for Healthplans, Providers and Clearinghouses
Date:5/29/2013

Reston, VA (PRWEB) May 29, 2013

The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), the leading authority on the use of Health IT to improve the exchange of healthcare information, announced the release of their latest whitepaper, “EFT and ERA Enrollment Process.” The whitepaper was composed by WEDI’s EFT Subworkgroup to help provide Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) guidance for healthplans, providers and clearinghouses.

Available for download on the WEDI website, the EFT and ERA Enrollment Process whitepaper clearly outlines EFT and ERA regulations and provides specific examples for the industry to follow as they implement process changes to meet new operating rule requirements.

“Our healthcare environment is changing so rapidly that it's very important to be able to share information and ensure that all parties involved in the changes not only understand the requirements, but the impact to their business and their trading partners' businesses," said Pamela Grosze, Vice President, PNC Bank, Healthcare Operations Payer Services. “Creating whitepapers like this allow us to provide a detailed explanation, best practices and answers to questions that healthcare entities may have now and in the future.”

The WEDI EFT Subgroup’s whitepaper was written by a diverse team of 15 healthcare professionals, including representatives from CAQH CORE, who provided varied perspectives on both electronic funds transfer and electronic remittance advice. The group also involved the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) in the creation of the document. WEDI invites individuals who want to be involved in the development of similar industry resources in the future to join a workgroup or contact Sam Holvey at sholvey[at]wedi[dot]org.
