Vlogging For Hair: YouTube Star 'Nalts' Promotes Hair Loss Awareness with Dr. Alan Bauman

YouTube star Nalts teams up with Dr. Alan Bauman to raise America's IQ on hair loss.

Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) August 22, 2009 -- Over 50 million American men suffer from hair loss. With that in mind, Dr. Alan Bauman recently partnered with YouTube star, Former Propecia Marketing Director and male pattern hair loss sufferer, Kevin Nalty (a.k.a. "Nalts") to raise awareness about hair loss with a live vlogging event - in the middle of Nalts's hair restoration surgery.

The live event on August 17th, promoted in advance by Nalts through social media sites like YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, drew 3358 online viewers via Stickam and BlogTV. By the time Nalts stepped into the O.R., his video called 'Hair Transplant' had over 30,000 views in less than one week. The online participants posted hundreds of questions, which Nalts and Bauman responded to throughout the hair transplant surgery. During the online chat, Nalts encouraged more celebrities to step forward and 'come out of the closet' regarding their hair loss and treatments they've had--and one in fact did!

"This was an amazing event, and it was truly exciting to see the level of interest from online viewers about the hair transplant process," said Dr. Bauman, a board-certified hair restoration surgeon. "But there's still so much misinformation out there among consumers, despite the best efforts by hair loss industry groups like the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the American Hair Loss Association, and consumer advocates, like Spencer Kobren."
