VivoMetrics' LifeShirt(R) Selected by Concordia University to Provide Patient Data for Healthy Heart Research Project
Date:11/24/2008

s us with an accurate biometric picture of how real-life behaviors and influences are impacting their health. This is something we just can't do in a laboratory."

LifeShirt(R) is a wearable, integrated RPM technology that continuously monitors multiple patient vital signs. The system provides researchers, physicians and healthcare providers with actionable insights into a patient's health via the monitoring and relational reporting of key life-sign functions including heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, body position, activity level and skin temperature. LifeShirt(R) enables the comfortable collection of information in ambulatory and home settings with minimal effort by or disruption to the patient.

"The opportunity to partner with the team at Concordia to combat a health issue as vast as cardiovascular disease is a testament to the LifeShirt technology, already a proven asset in research conducted in real-life settings," said Howard Baker, president and chief executive officer of VivoMetrics. "As we develop our next generation system, VivoMetrics is uniquely positioned to expand more broadly into healthcare and address the needs of a population that is growing older and experiencing greater rates of chronic diseases. By providing a continuous and accurate picture of a patient's well-being outside of traditional hospital or clinical settings, we can enable healthcare providers to improve outcomes and reduce the overall cost of care."

The Healthy Heart Project is conducted by members of Team Prodigy, an inter-university research team including Universite de Montreal, Concordia University, Universite Laval, McGill University and INRS-Institut Armand Frappier.
