Two-Day Event Benefits the American Cancer Society
AKRON, Ohio, June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to fund research and fight cancer, Virtual Hold Technology, LLC (VHT) is proud to participate in the American Cancer Society (ACS) Relay for Life of Westside event, June 13-14, at Copley High School.
According to the ACS, United States doctors are expected to diagnose more than 1.3 million new cancer cases this year -- and VHT wanted to help do something about it.
"I am so excited to support such a great cause," said VHT Team Captain Jennifer Doll. "Cancer has affected our lives in some way. This is a way to fight back."
Relay for Life raises money to fight cancer while also honoring survivors and paying tribute to those lost to cancer. The VHT team will join more than 30 other local teams as they camp out overnight, walk on the high school's track, and participate in other fundraising activities.
In anticipation of the event, the VHT team has held a variety of fundraisers, including 50/50 raffles and bake sales. The team also donated 95 cell phones to Cellular Recycler, a company that recycles cell phones and donates the money to ACS.
This is the 15th anniversary for Relay for Life of Westside, which was the first ACS event in Ohio. To learn more about Relay for Life, visit http://www.relayforlife.org .
