Virginia Beach Man Loses 17 Pounds, on Top of a Previous 100 Pound Loss, and Wins Major $50,000 Prize
Date:3/10/2008

th exercise. I started walking but quickly switched to bicycle riding because of my large feet. After losing 57 pounds, I joined a gym and went daily for about six months but was not progressing as rapidly as I wanted. I had seen the P90X ad. I got Beachbody's Power 90 program in June and that had me ready for P90X by September 2007. I completed P90X just before Christmas. I am using the P90X Plus workouts and started a second round of P90X a few weeks ago to complete my transformation this spring," he said.

Since winning in August, he lost an additional 25.3 pounds of fat, added 8.3 pounds of muscle, reduced his body fat percentage by 11.5% and trimmed 6" total from my waist, chest and hips.

"People don't recognize the new me," said a jubilant Jacob. "I have lost 116 pounds in the past 16-1/2 months. All of my physical complaints are long gone. I now have tons of energy to do everything I want. My wife has been extremely supportive and encouraging and she lost 30 pounds to her goal," he said.

When Jacob and his wife took a vacation to Walt Disney World in Florida it was the complete opposite of that fateful convention trip. They danced like teens, walked all day and night, and even went on all the rides. Despite the challenges of sticking to a diet on the road, Jacob didn't gain one ounce on that trip.

Jacob's new goal is to be fitter than he was in high school, when he swam varsity. In any case, he's fitter now than at 51 than he was at 25.

Like other contestants, Scott submitted the story of his transformation, with before and after photos, and was chosen as a previous male $1,000 winner. He was then invited to submit a new picture and essay to be eligible for the Grand Prize -- in which he was guaranteed $50,000 and a shot at the $250,000.
