New Jersey-Based physician office is proof that small practices are optimal

DALLAS, June 9 /PRNewswire/ - Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (Nasdaq: ZIXI), the leader in hosted services for email encryption and e-prescribing, issued a statement today supporting the bipartisan efforts to require electronic prescribing for Medicare prescriptions. On June 6, Senator Max Baucus (D- MT), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, introduced the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 (S. 3101). This bill included positive incentives beginning in 2009 and a requirement to write Medicare prescriptions using a qualified e-prescribing system starting in 2011, enforced by financial penalties on physicians who fail to e-prescribe after that date.
