MANCHESTER, Conn., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Vgo Software, Inc., a leading provider of client-server modernization solutions, today announces their success in becoming the first in the world to automate the modernization of Oracle Forms to ADF v11 for customer Mednet International (MNI), an international provider of health insurance administration systems in Athens, Greece. Vgo Software utilized both ART(TM), their Oracle Forms analysis tool, and Evo(TM), the industry leading Oracle Forms modernization software, to complete the project.
"We are very pleased with our success in working with MNI to modernize their Oracle Forms applications to ADF with our automated tool, Evo," said Ernst Renner, Vgo's CEO. "Working closely with such a forward thinking company on implementing the modernization has been an exciting journey for us, and with a subset of their Forms officially converted, we look forward to continue our relationship with them as we complete the project."
Vgo Software was challenged to modernize the health insurance administration and management system from an Oracle Forms 6i-based client- server system to Oracle ADF v11 to provide better long-term support for MNI's applications, reduce operational spending and position their portfolio in a long-term strategic position. "The team at MNI realized that to achieve greater scalability and flexibility, a true Java-based architecture would be required," said Renner. "However, they did not want to sacrifice the business logic they had invested in by completely re-writing the system."
To solve this issue Vgo worked with MNI from the start by objectively assessing their organizational and business needs to recommend a solution architecture and approach to modernization. Vgo then used ART to analyze their application to assist in planning the approach in more detail. From the analysis, Vgo worked closely with MNI developers to customize Evo to convert their Forms to a specific ADF v11 implementation. Vgo has worked with the technical previews of ADF v11 all the way through to the most current release, technical preview 4. Throughout this project Vgo partnered extensively with MNI and also Oracle product development to support a successful implementation and go-forward strategy.
"We chose Vgo Software to handle our modernization project because of their experience, products, and professionalism. Working with them on this project is a great experience for us and their tools and professional services will assist us in achieving our goals while retaining our existing business logic," said Gerry Raftopoulos, MNI's General Manager. "We are looking forward to working with Vgo Software going forward."
