Date:8/18/2009

ATLANTA, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Rafael (Rafy) Ibarra, a complex rehab specialist with more than 19 years experience in the healthcare industry, a wheelchair user since 1983 and a 1988 Paralympic Gold Medalist, has joined Alliance Seating & Mobility (ASM), a national, accredited complex rehab company. "I entered the rehab field because I wanted to educate others about wheelchair sports and healthy living, and to give them the tools to continue to live their lives to the fullest," said Ibarra. "The best part of my job is providing independence and improving people's lives."

Rafael Ibarra holds the ATP certification through Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA). In addition, he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis in marketing from California State University in Fresno. He also won a Gold Medal in the 1988 Paralympics in Seoul, Korea, in the Athletics category for 800-meter track, and is the 2008 U.S. Road Racing Handcycle Champion.

"With his personal experience and almost two decades in the healthcare field, Rafy can help our customers find real solutions to their mobility challenges," said Scott Higley, ASM's Vice President of Business Development. "Our team is growing stronger every day, ensuring that we provide the best products and services possible to our complex rehab patients across the nation. With the help of professionals like Rafy, we will have a nationwide reach by the end of this year."
