Vet Supply Source has made a substantial donation to the Oklahoma Human Society to help animals that were injured and/or displaced because of the deadly tornados that occurred in May. Vet Supply Source donated over $4000 in flea/tick medications to the Humane Society to help the variety of animals kept in their shelters.
“We are very saddened by the devastating aftermath in the wake of the tornado that struck Oklahoma City in May," said Jill Metz, a media spokesperson for Vet Supply Source. "We continue to keep the people of Oklahoma City in our thoughts and prayers and hope they are able to recover from this terrible tragedy."
It isn't uncommon for pets to end up in animal shelters after natural disasters; and hundreds of dogs and cats ended up in shelters across the state because of the significant damage done by the tornados and storms. All of these animals need veterinary care, and flea and tick infestations can be a problem when so many animals are confined close together. Vet Supply Source's flea and tick medications should be able to help keep the animals comfortable and free of parasites.
"We realize many pets have been separated from their families and will continue to need care while everyone works hard to reconnect missing pets with their families," Metz said. "We are happy to support the community in sending these donations and extend our deepest sympathies for those who have been lost in the disaster.”
