East Meadow, NY (PRWEB) May 20, 2010 -- Applied Forensics LLP, a laboratory specializing in handwriting analysis, played an integral role in one of the top 25 New York verdicts of 2009, as recently released by VerdictSearch.

The case of Danzy Estate vs. Brooklyn-Queens Nursing Home Inc. placed thirteenth on the list. The jury ruled in favor of the Danzy estate and said the plaintiff’s fatal infection was a product of the nurses’ neglect at the Brooklyn-Queens Nursing Home.

Dennis J. Ryan, a Senior Examiner at Applied Forensics, provided expert testimony for the plaintiff about overwritten entries on medical charts. Ryan was able to determine the original entry in many cases on the charts through non-destructive ink examination. He found numerous handwritten ink entries that were overwritten several times.
