Verathon Inc. Launches Enhanced BladderScan(R) Bladder Volume Instrument With Small Child Mode

BOTHELL, Wash., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Verathon(R) is pleased to announce a new Small Child Mode for the portable BladderScan(R) BVI 9400 bladder volume instrument with patent-pending NeuralHarmonics(TM) Technology. Small Child Mode enables health care providers to measure bladder volume noninvasively on children weighing less than 60 pounds and standing less than 48 inches high with the same instrument used for adult patients. This enhanced BladderScan(R) BVI 9400 will make its official debut at the Association of Peri-Operative Registered Nurses (AORN) conference in Anaheim, CA on April 1. (Verathon Booth #785)

BladderScan(R) portable ultrasound instruments, the gold standard in bladder volume measurement, help diagnose urinary retention, evaluate common urological conditions and prevent unnecessary catheterization.

The newest BladderScan(R) in the line, the BVI 9400, now with Small Child Mode, allows Urologists, Primary Care physicians and Acute Care facilities to standardize on one bladder volume instrument for all patient age groups. The BladderScan(R) BVI 9400 also incorporates NeuralHarmonics(TM) Technology. This patent-pending advance in the science of ultrasound helps improve both speed and accuracy in bladder volume measurement. NeuralHarmonics(TM) Technology helps achieve previously unattainable differentiation of the bladder, urine and hypo-echogenic regions such as the uterus, thereby reducing error and minimizing uncertainty in measurements of bladder function.
