Provider of 1-800-MEDICARE Help Line Will Now Support CMS' Information
Technology Framework and Modernization
ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Vangent, Inc., a leading global provider of information management and business process outsourcing solutions, today announced it won subcontracting roles on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Enterprise System Development (ESD) contract. Vangent is part of a team led by Northrop Grumman for the unrestricted portions of the contract and part of a team led by IDL Solutions for the small business-restricted portions of the contract. The multiple-award indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts, awarded to 16 contractor teams this month, are worth as much as $4 billion over a one-year base period and eight one-year option periods.
The scope of work under the ESD IDIQ contract entails the planning, design, development, testing, implementation, operations coordination and maintenance of CMS' automated systems and business application software that integrate hardware, software and communication technologies. This work will include all phases of the ESD Services Model: Initiation and Planning, Requirements, Design, Development, Test, Maintenance and ESD Support Services. Unrestricted ESD services include software, database and system integration design, development and maintenance. Small business-restricted ESD services include investment initiation and planning, requirements analysis, system testing and support services. Specific work to be performed will be detailed in individual task orders issued under the IDIQ contract.

initiatives since 2005, providing business process modeling, detailed risk
assessment, gap analysis, joint application development facilitation and
