Company's Behavioral Health Grants Now Total $13.4 Million
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- ValueOptions(R), Inc., of Norfolk, Virginia, the behavioral health organization that has managed public behavioral health care services in New Mexico since 2005, announced today that it is awarding $3.1 million to behavioral health care providers to further develop community-based services across the state.

This funding means ValueOptions(R) has granted a total of $13.4 million in the past two years to expand behavioral health care services in New Mexico. The money will go toward building up a diverse array of services, from boosting tribal behavioral health programs to mental health recovery, housing, telepsychiatry, financial literacy and even a recovery center's community garden project.
ValueOptions(R)' contract in the state formally ends on June 30, 2009, though the benefits from these grants will extend to 2010.
"We may be on the way out of New Mexico, but we're leaving more than $3 million in additional funds in the community," said Eddy Broadway, CEO of ValueOptions(R) New Mexico.
The availability of the community reinvestment money results from ValueOptions(R)' efficient management of state healthcare dollars and an effort to increase enrollment among those who qualify for programs.
