aids eye/hand coordination, spatial relations and an understanding of direction. The horses lend their strength and abilities to the rider and their movement and shape helps tight, spastic muscles to relax while also benefiting posture and balance. Students gain a sense of achievement, self respect and satisfaction while growing socially and emotionally through the attainment of horseback riding skills. The program is accredited by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA), with certified instructors and a physical therapist consultant on staff.

Valley Riding, Inc. is a 501(c )3 nonprofit affiliate of the Cleveland Metroparks, serving horse enthusiasts from locations in the Rocky River and Brecksville reservations. In addition to its therapeutic riding program, the organization offers boarding, able-bodied riding lessons for children and adults, pony camp, educational tours and more.
