VIVA Transcription Adapts to Pending Spike in Baby Boomer Patient Records
Date:6/9/2009

As this demographic grows, increase for more transcription services requires pro-activity

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- VIVA Transcription, a leading provider in medical transcription services, announced that it has recently enhanced its business model to accommodate the expected health issues of baby boomers soon on the verge of retirement. These changes include the creation of an HL7 interface to exchange information with compliant EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems to seamlessly interact with hospitals and government agencies now requiring HL7 compatibility from its providers.

"With growing health-related issues and baby boomers approaching retirement on the rise, medical transcription service is one of the small business opportunities benefiting from increased health care demands," noted Manuel Prado, CEO of VIVA Transcription.

A 2008 study by the Medical Transcription Industry Alliance (MTIA) revealed that the annual market growth for this business is expected to be a staggering 15-20% over the next five-to-ten years. In order to be prepared for this growing business, VIVA Transcription is proactively adding to - and enhancing - its online client portal to best accommodate increased volume, while at the same time increasing its available pool of transcriptionists.

In addition to the creation of an HL7 compliant EMR, VIVA Transcription is also upgrading its client portal to a Microsoft.net 3.0 operating system to ensure higher stability of the portal while, at the same time, substantially reducing development time for future modifications.
