Company Donates $100,000 to Red Cross for Disaster Relief; Opens Free
Crisis Counseling Hotline for All Tennesseans
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Responding to the devastation caused by the tornados that swept Tennessee earlier this week, UnitedHealthcare of the River Valley is donating $100,000 to the American Red Cross for storm relief efforts in Tennessee and has opened a toll-free crisis counseling hotline for all Tennesseans who may be coping with the emotional effects of the disaster.
The toll-free counseling hotline, which is staffed by master's-level health specialists is 866-342-6892. It will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for as long as necessary.
The service, which is operated by OptumHealth, the health and wellness division of UnitedHealth Group, is free of charge to anyone who needs it, regardless of whether they have health insurance from AmeriChoice, SecureHorizons or any other UnitedHealth Group company, and includes referrals to a national database of community resources for help with specific concerns, such as financial and legal issues. Access to these resources is also available via the Internet at http://www.liveandworkwell.com.
