United Way of America Partners with Livingston Communications to Develop Social Media Strategy

Leading Washington-Area Public Relations Firm to Support the LIVE UNITED™ Campaign

Alexandria, V.A. (PRWEB) October 1, 2008 -- Livingston Communications, the Washington area's most experienced independent social media-oriented public relations firm, signed a contract with United Way of America to develop a comprehensive social media strategy for the organization's LIVE UNITED™ campaign. The two entities will develop internal and external online engagement efforts for the national LIVE UNITED™ campaign and a social media framework for the United Way system.

"Now that LIVE UNITED™ has been launched, we're ready to expand our efforts with the influential social web," said Melvin Young, VP of Marketing and Brand Strategy for United Way of America. "Our aim is two-fold, really. We're building a national LIVE UNITED movement to engage and build relationships with socially connected donors, advocates and volunteers. In addition, we're striving to ensure that the network of local United Ways can effectively leverage social media from a common ground."

LIVE UNITED™ is designed to inspire individuals across the country to help advance the common good through giving, advocating and volunteering in the areas of education, income and health.
