Date:11/24/2009

WASHINGTON, Nov. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Union Labor Life Insurance Company ("Union Labor Life") announced today that it has aligned with VSP (®),( )the nation's largest vision benefits and services company, to provide a range of vision insurance products to unions, union trust funds, union employers and their members.

VSP has 40,000 doctor access points offering services including comprehensive eye exams, broad selections of optical frames and more. "We understand how important quality eye care is," stated Bruce Smith, National Sales, VSP. "Comprehensive eye exams can show early signs of diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. For the union marketplace, we take extra steps to deliver quality service and the best care possible for our members."

For Union Labor Life, the expansion of its product portfolio allows it to be more relevant in the labor marketplace during these tough economic times. "By working with VSP, we are able to offer a comprehensive array of integrated programs to meet the vision needs of members and ensure they will have access to world-class eye care products and services. Today, vision care is a valuable benefit for many hard-working Americans, and we want to ensure it can continue to be offered," says Larry Paradise, Head of Group Sales at Union Labor Life.

Edward M. Smith, President of ULLICO Inc., the holding company for Union Labor Life, noted that benefit solutions like VSP demonstrate ULLICO's ongoing and unwavering dedication to the labor movement: "For more than 80 years, ULLICO has always put the needs of American working families at the core of its mission. Eye care is often overlooked when it comes to health care and the VSP products address this potential void."
