UniCare Health Plan Teams With Local Organizations for Community and Wellness Fair

"Celebrate your children, Celebrate you" health fair will provide free health screenings for children and valuable health information for parents

WICHITA, Kan., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- As summer vacation slowly comes to a close, parents and children alike prepare for the return to school. Getting ready to go back to school often means getting important health screenings and immunizations up-to-date. To help parents, the "Celebrate Your Children, Celebrate You," health fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 2 at the Boys and Girls Club, 2400 N. Opportunity Drive. A variety of free health screenings and valuable health information for parents will be available at the fair.

While at the health fair, uninsured children will receive free sports physicals and are eligible for free immunizations if they are under the age of 18. Additionally, vision, hearing and dental screenings will be available along with blood pressure checks and lead screenings for children under the age of six. Fun outdoor games and moonwalks will also round out an afternoon of fun for children and door prizes will be offered throughout the afternoon.

The free screenings and valuable health information is being provided by: The Center for Health and Wellness, Via Christi Wichita Health Network and Wesley Medical Center. In addition, The Sedgwick County programs that will be at the health fair include Healthy Babies; Immunizations; WIC and Blood Lead.
