US Script Receives URAC Pharmacy Benefit Management Accreditation
Date:3/13/2008

FRESNO, Calif., March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- US Script, Inc. announced today that as of March 1, 2008, it has received the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) Accreditation from URAC, a Washington, DC-based healthcare accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the healthcare industry. Launched in 2007, URAC's PBM Accreditation program delivers the first-ever national standards and service benchmarks for the PBM industry, as well as Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes to improve operations and enhance compliance. US Script is one of only 11 PBMs accredited nationwide.

"By achieving URAC accreditation, US Script has proven that through a pursuit of excellence, any size PBM can deliver a superior level of service and value," said Robert Bagdasarian, president and CEO of US Script. "PBM Accreditation underscores our commitment to quality and safety, and offers a seal of approval that employers, members, and providers can trust."

URAC's Pharmacy Benefit Management Accreditation is achieved by meeting standards and demonstrating industry practices in five areas: organizational quality; customer service, communications and disclosure; pharmacy distribution channels; drug utilization management; and formulary development.

"By applying for and receiving PBM Accreditation, US Script has demonstrated a commitment to quality healthcare," said Alan P. Speilman, URAC president and CEO. "Quality healthcare is crucial to our nation's welfare, and it is important to have organizations that are willing to measure themselves against national standards."
