US Oncology Wins Three National Safety Council Awards

Texas Chapter Recognizes Pharmaceutical Distribution Center, Specialty Pharmacy and Research Network

HOUSTON, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Three US Oncology, Inc. businesses have received a Safety Excellence Perfect Record Award in the Occupational Safety & Health category from the Texas chapter of the National Safety Council: US Oncology Research, OncologyRx Care Advantage(TM), and US Oncology Specialty, LP. This is the third time US Oncology companies have received the Occupational Excellence Award from the national organization's Texas chapter. More information can be found at www.usoncology.com.

The award is presented to companies, units and/or facilities that have completed a period of at least 12 consecutive months without incurring an occupational injury or illness that resulted in days away from work or death.

From 2007 to 2008, US Oncology Specialty, OncologyRx Care Advantage, and US Oncology Research each achieved a zero percent incidence rate for number of days away from work. Following are the 2008 statistics for each:

  • US Oncology Specialty, LP - 34 employees who worked 63,628 hours
  • OncologyRx Care Advantage--25 employees working 47,765 hours
  • US Oncology Research Network--16 employees who worked 29,989 hours
