US Drug Watchdog will Expand Their Initiative Focused on Helping Recipients of a Failed DePuy Pinnacle All Metal Hip Implant with a New Emphasis on Blood Testing in 2013

The US Drug Watchdog says, “We intend to dramatically increase our initiative focused on identifying more DePuy Pinnacle metal on metal hip implant failure victims in the coming new year. The key to our enhanced DePuy Pinnacle metal on metal hip implant victims initiative is identifying failure victims with blood tests. These blood tests need to be focused on identifying elevated levels of cobalt, or chromium in the recipients blood. According to court records, "The Europeans are suggesting a failure rate of 50% on all metal on metal hip implants, and, according to the New York Times on December 27th 2011. "The DePuy Pinnacle hip implant is the largest player with over 25% of all US metal on metal hip implant recipients. Nearly 140,000 DePuy Pinnacle metal-on-metal hip implants were surgically installed on US citizens between 2002, and 2010." The DePuy Pinnacle metal on metal hip implant device is now the subject of a national class action lawsuit.
